Photoshop Subscriptions Info

From Gary Benson: I’m sure you Photoshop users know that Adobe as gone to a subscription model at $20/month. At that price I won’t do it. However, I found out you can get it at $10/month plus Lightroom and some Flash software. Ok I’ll byte. See for a brief write up plus comments. Most are negative of the subscription model. Also, the article says ‘for life’ at $10/month. There is a link to the $10 deal at Adobe. Adobe doesn’t say for life, but I’ll worry about it in a year. I did it… Lightroom would not install until I upgraded my MAC to Lion, now it does. It all seems to work. Gary Benson

Fall Events – Western Art

Fall is a perfect time of year, not only to get out and paint but also to get inspired by attending some of the many great art shows that are held in September.

A great place to view thousands of world class paintings is to attend the Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival in Jackson, Wyoming. Jackson is not only famous for the awe inspiring Tetons and their wildlife but for one of the nations premiere art centers as well. The fall Festival runs from September 5-15 and includes over 50 events which celebrate contemporary, culinary, landscape, Native American, wildlife and western arts.

The final weekend includes the show-stopping Western Visions show at the National Museum of Wildlife Art and the Jackson Hole Art Auction which will be auctioning some of the west’s great masters as well as a lucky few of today’s masters. The weekend also includes an action packed quick draw as well as special events at dozens of incredible galleries.

For great inspiration closer to home attend Art for the Sangres at the Painted View Ranch. It is a special treat to have such an array of great artwork right here in the valley every year. The show is open and free to the public from 1:00-5:00 on September 28. The show begins at 5:00 and is a great evening with fantastic art, food and fun …all supporting a great cause for $50 /ticket. Come be inspired by great artwork right here at home! Then after all this inspiration we will all be ready for Alla Prima Westcliffe to kick off our October!  Sarah Woods.
