Nature photographer and SAG member Paul Biron will be giving a presentation entitled “Seeing the world in unusual ways: Creative lens choices” at this month’s meeting of the Southern Colorado Photography Society (SCPS).
The meeting/presentation will take place on Sept 26th at the Lamb Branch of the Pueblo Library, 2525 S. Pueblo Blvd. The SCPS meeting starts at 6:30pm and Paul’s presentation will start at about 7pm. All are welcome.
The People’s Choice Award winners of the High Peaks art show are: 1st Place Photography by Sandi Dalton for “Iris” – the White Cat, 1st place Fine Art by Andy Mast for his graphite artwork “Peace in Solitude” and 2nd place Fine Art by Pattie Wall for her pastel “Rocky Mountain Goat.” Congratulations to the winners of this month’s show at 3rd Street Gallery! Great refreshments and spirits were done by Teresa Farish and Amy Motezedi. Special thanks to Smythe and Taylor for providing a plethora of good tunes and excellent entertainment!
The “High Peaks” show runs Thursday’s through Monday’s until September 23 at the 3rd St. Gallery, 11-4.
Sangres Art Guild Watercolor Classes for Adults will be held at Greenstone Artworks, 100 Main St., Westcliffe, CO, 81252, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Sept. 3 & 4, Sept. 10 & 11, and Sept. 17 & 18. The cost is $25 for two (2) four hour sessions. Materials may be purchased for $20. All skill levels are welcome. Congratulations to the winners of the People’s Choice awards for the Happy Trails show! First Place went to Curt Gillespie for his oil painting “Mountain Ranch” and second place went to Amy Motazedi for her beautiful oil painting “Blue Sage Sentinel.” The show runs until August 26.
