Please mark your calendars to attend the Calendar Show reception on May 4th, 4-7PM.
We had an excellent turn out for the show. There were 81 artwork entries from 31 artists. At least one piece from each artist was accepted. The first round of selection by a local panel of judges narrowed the field to 47 entries, about our limit for the size of the gallery. The juror, Chuck Mardosz, then selected the 13 pieces for the calendar from the 47.
We thank Chuck Mardosz for his excellent judging, as well as all who entered the show. Your support for the Guild is appreciated.
Happy New Year! Please join us at the next Sangres Art Guild meeting:
Thursday, January 17, 2013
Cliff Lanes Community Room
Agenda: Brief review of Board decisions/actions, then a brief break, then the program: Understanding Tones/Values by Quang Ho (video)
This 25-minute video segment contains valuable help on comprehending values and how they are applied to creating artwork. This segment is part of Ho’s 6+ hour DVD “Nuts & Bolts — What I wish I’d known before ever picking up a brush”.
SAG Members, come to the Holiday Show reception Saturday, 4-7 at the 3rd Street Gallery, and cast your vote for the new Board of Directors. Its not too late to offer your services as a member of the Board. Just let me know and I’ll put your name on the ballot for a two-year term. New ideas and new energy!
Enjoy some time with your fellow artists, goodies, drinks and of course the fine art. Also stop by and enjoy the many other acitivities happening downtown that evening.
Please let Anne Owens know If you can bring a dish to pass for the reception.
Be there or be square! Holiday cheers. Curt
