And the Winners Are

June 6th marked our first ‘Opening Reception’ of 2020. During the reception, the public voted on Peoples’ Choice awards. The winners were ShuShu Clark for her Oil,  Sangres Skyline and a tie for 2nd place, Gordon (Shorty) Schockey for his Photo, Jackson Stage Station and Don Vawter, for his Photo, Sunrise Moonset. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who braved the weather to come out and check out the artwork and vote.

In addition to the People’s Choice winners, door prizes were won by six folks who chose either 2021 Calendars, note cards from Michael Arterburn and a plant from Salty Pine Floral and Boutique. Special thanks to Terri Wiebke and Annie Dawid for ‘manning the store’ from 11 to 5 which allowed us to host a safe and enjoyable Opening Reception.

The reception was for the 2021 Calendar Show themed ‘Stars of Custer County,’ which, for the first time, showcased as a Virtual Show that started May 2nd, and allowed everyone to view the show amid the COVID-19 restrictions. Now that 3rd Street Gallery is open for public viewing, make sure to stop by if you haven’t already and check it out! Two floors of fine art to explore and the show runs until June 29th. The Calendar Show is sponsored by the Sangres Art Guild a non-profit 501 (c) (3). View the virtual show here or for info on upcoming shows check out SAG’s website.
