ARTS HULLABALOO lives!
YES! Sangres Art Guild and Rebecca’s Fund WILL host the annual Arts Hullabaloo this year. SAG’s 14th Annual Arts Hullabaloo is on! With COVID-19, we have restructured our annual event to encourage kids and families of Custer County to have some fun, safe outdoor fun all guaranteed to share the fun of creativity in kids of all ages. Participants will be required to wear Masks and to social distance while participating or watching.
Chris Carlson – Professional chalk street artist, Denver
Last year’s drawing is still available for people to see and ‘take a picture’ located by “Grandma’s House” in Westcliffe.
Chris will begin Thursday late afternoon starting his 3-D drawing on Main Street in Westcliffe.
Friday, September 18, 9am, 10am, or 11am. At the Pavilion on 4th and Hermit, Chris will be giving three 1-hour Chalk Art Technique Workshops. Workshop space is limited so RSVP to Terri at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a space at 9am, 10am, or 11am. Chalk will be furnished. Participants must be 7 or older, and agree to wear a mask and socially distance.
1 – 5pm. Chris will be creating his own new sidewalk 3D art on Main St.
Saturday, September 19
1-4pm – Chris will be finishing his sidewalk art
4-6pm Chris will be judging the Chalk Art Competition! Cash prizes to be awarded in several categories. Winners to be posted on the SAG website and FB on Sunday, September 20th.
Hullabaloo Chalk Art Competition
Friday the 18th 9-5 and Saturday the 19th, 9 to 3
Both individual and family categories will be judged so go out and create! Sign up to compete and pick up your chalk at Greenstone Artworks at 100 Main Street.
Go Fly A Kite
Saturday, September 19th on the Bluff
‘Go fly a kite’ – Fun continues! Families and friends are invited to decorate and fly a kite ~ or ~ bring your own – to the Bluff on Saturday the 19th. 9 – 2. Bring a chair.
Everyone is invited for another year to come decorate their own kites and spend the day flying them.
Kite kits and art supplies will be furnished for all.
To be safe, we will be practicing social distancing in the kite decorating area. There will be limited seating at each table. Participants can fill open seats as others finish. Masks are required in the table area.
Please bring your own chairs and stay to watch the fun! Water will be available for all.
You are welcome to bring your own kite to fly!
Social distancing will also apply while flying your kite as well. Masks must be available to put on if volunteers are helping you.
All participants will be required to sign waivers.
