What a nice day to view some great art. August 6th was the opening reception for the August Show in which patrons voted on their People’s Choice awards. The winners are:
- Melody DeBenedictis – Oil – The Water Crew, 1st Place People’s Choice Award
- Amy Motazedi – Oil – Western Landscape, 2nd Place People’s Choice Award
In addition to such great art, those that attended watched Jewelry Artist Shelly Green doing a demo: “Artistic Jewelry Making,” and heard live music by local musicians High Country Junkies, Liz VanSomeren, Rick South, Dan Haggerty, Tim Johnson and others.
You can still see the artwork and don’t miss the 2nd Floor featuring artwork of 25 SAG volunteers and 3rd St. Gallery rounds out by featuring the young artists of the valley. On the first floor the “Young Artists’ Wall” the Preschool & Elementary showcases the Kenyon and Humphreys families. On the 2nd floor, featured artists are “Young Artists’ Wall” – Keely Huffman – Middle School and Ethan Dulohery and Gabe Micciulla – High School. The August Show runs Thursday – Monday, 11-4 until August 29.
